Eagles Rest was as beautiful if not more so than the photographs and the Batterson were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Their home is huge, well equipped and immaculate. It looks directly at Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive. It was amazing watching the sun rise on the mountains in the morning. You are only a 10 minute drive from Leadville and maybe 30 to Buena Vista. There is lots to do, especially if you like hiking as there are tons of old abandoned mines in the hills around the area and many 14ers as well as the Arkansas River for rafting trips in the summer. There are lakes nearby the house as well and it's very peaceful. I'd look at fourteenernet.com for other things to do in the area. There are about 10 other homes in the area, but they are all widely spaced from each other. I highly recommend this home and can't wait to go back myself when the aspens are turning.

I have spent many summer vacations in CO and have stayed in many cabins. Your cabin, by far, exceeded any of our previous lodging. It was well furnished and well stocked with just about anything you would need. I could not have picked a better place to vacation. The view was most excellent.
